History

Nonlogic started off as a small little pet project of mine on back in 2002, then named “Shadowarts”. I wanted to not only have my own website, but host it myself too. For about two years the server was accessed through shadowarts.ath.cx. At first it was just a boring website with no point, then felix created a new layout. In the spirit of a much nicer looking site I put up some forums and though they were not very popular, they were what made the website.

In 2004, I decided to purchase shadowarts.org; it was the same old website with a new address. After several people hacked the forums and shut them down (I did have MySQL backups, of course). I decided enough was enough.

For several months shadowarts.org was dormant. Then I acquired a new server and decided to start up my site again, only this time things would be different. I decided I was sick of doing web admin type stuff but still wanted to do all the things involved with being a server admin.

That is when Nonlogic first started: no longer was I going to care how many people came to the site, or if I even had my own web page, so shadowarts.org became a shell server. We are still in the process of getting this site going but with everyone’s help we can pull it off. Thanks to the user base we are slowly but surely growing.

We’re building a new server to replace Leibniz, which is on it’s last proverbial legs. The specs are still being priced out, you can take a look at them here, feel free to edit them too. Help us raise money to build it by donating! Our budget is about $500 for a new server.

Nash

Our test dummy server hosted in Shadowart’s dorm. This was used to remotely reinstall Linux on Leibniz.

This was going to be the replacement server for leibniz, dedicated in the memory of our user JesseMalthus. Shadowarts pick it up on EBay, it’s very cool. It’s all hot swappable, huge, and loud. The power caused shadowart’s wall to break open. You could literally see through to the outside, and I’m only half joking!
